A new favorite....

Thanks to Cardygirl I have discovered a new favorite 'Lindt dark chocolate with sea salt'!!! After she told me about it yesterday I just happened to find it at the supermarket on the way home, even better it was on a 2 for 1 deal, luckily I had already wrapped the other block as a Birthday gift!!!

It's over!

Well Masterchef 2010 came to a close last night and I was really pleased that Adam won. He has been a joy to watch in the competition for the whole series. Callum is so young and has improved so much that he is going to have a wonderful future in the food industry. I was thrilled for him when George announced he had a scholarship to work in his restaurant for 3 months, I am sure he will guide him to make good choices. What about that dessert?? It was amazing and just wish we had taste and smell tv!!!! The biggest problem now....what on earth is going to control our evenings now??? and what to watch on tv???? I can see a lot of very early nights coming up!! Anyone else sad it's all over?

A little TLC....

The 'horsey' one and Henry attended a clinic both yesterday and today for lessons. After their lesson today Henry was microchipped by the local vet. We were a bit worried it would upset him but he hardly flinched. A kiss and a carrot and he was happy again!

Fun!

On Thursday the 'Horsey' one took part in an Interschool round robin Australian rules football competition!!! She had great fun along with her friends and I must admit it was very entertaining to watch, don't think we are in any danger of any of them taking it up seriously. They had the most fun smearing mud over each other at the end of the game - apparently that is what footy is all about!!! It took 3 washes to get the mud out of her hair! The one with the most mud in the photo belongs to me....

Look at this......

I have just got home from heading out of town to take the 'horsey' one to the dentist in Mum's home town where Mum presented me with this amazing 'Partridge in a pear tree'!!! I loved it when I saw it in a Homespun magazine about 2 years ago and asked Mum to make it. She agreed but it has been a slow process and at times neither of us were sure it would be finished or worth finishing. I am thrilled to bits with it and can't wait for the silly season to roll around. Think it may perhaps be left out until then to be enjoyed and 'oohed' and 'aahed' over. The photos aren't clear but the little white scroll at the bottom says ' On the first day of Christmas my true love sent to me...'I have realised that the photo isn't true of how vibrant the green of the leaves are and the richness of the pears. It is beautiful.

Dancing Queen.....

Last Friday I had a very early start to the day heading off to Melbourne to meet one of my oldest and dearest friends to visit ABBAWORLD at Federation Square. Karen and I went to kindergarten together at the age of 4 and have been friends ever since. As 10 year olds we lived and breathed ABBA. We sang to them and danced to them and even recorded ourselves on a 'cassette' , what we would give to have them now!!! Karen was lucky enough to go to the ABBA concert when they came to Australia and her parents even got a ticket for me but my parents wouldn't let me go. I guess back then Melbourne was a long long way away. I still haven't let Mum forget it though. The ticket Karen's brother used instead of me is still one of my treasured possessions. We had ABBA socks, pillows, books, posters and of course their albums!!
We spent 3 hours at ABBAWORLD and had so much fun. It brought back so many memories. There were a lot of interactive things that you could do and download afterwards such as us singing and dancing, these have been saved and kept to be brought out one day in our nursing home....."remember when....".

Sweet 16!

Today my 'baby', the horsey one turns 16! We made the trip down to Werribee for the day to help her celebrate with a Mars Bar Mudcake for the Birthday cake. She is down there for the week competing in an interschool equestrian competition. Today she was showjumping. I was so proud of her and Henry and thrilled to bits when she won her last event of 3 for the day. What a special way for her to celebrate her Birthday.
