Quilt comfort..

There is something about a bed with quilts that screams comfort to me. This is the bed I prepared with love yesterday as we head off to Melbourne to the airport this morning to collect Sharron , the Chinese student from Hong Kong who will be living with us for the next 7 weeks. You may remember in the past her brother Sebastian lived with us for 18 months. and then 2 years ago she was here for a term. She is spending her school holidays attending school in Australia to improve her English. She is now 11, I wonder how much she has grown up since we've seen her. I have a bed prepared with love and a lot of cuddles for when it is all too overwhelming for her. A very different parenting style to mine.

She'll love it! How sweet of you to make her so comfy.

Gosh, is it really two years since she last visited! I may be wrong but did I send her a gift to cheer her up? I will go back through my posts to see if I can find it. Let me know I would like to send another. A brave girl to go so far on her own. There is me worried about Sophie going on Brownie holiday and she will only be a few miles away!

Cultural exchange is such a wonderful thing. Both our girls have hosted exchange students (only for 2 weeks though) and have then visited Italy to stay with their exchange-sisters. It gives them insight into how others live and how lucky we are to live in Australia.

Bri's boyfriend is currently hosting his Italian exchange for7 weeks and we hope to take them 4WDing over our coastal area - bbq on the beach, bonfire and toasted marshmallows and Smores! The weather will have to improve a bit and get above the 9C it is here at the moment, though!

Cheers - Joolz
