A little advice required!!!

It is now 2 weeks and 3 days till we leave for our holiday in the US and boy oh boy are we getting excited!!! Must admit I am getting slightly frazzled as the list of things still to do is enormous!!!!!! and everyone else in the family just fronts up at the airport expecting me to be organised for them!! Now the advice I need is about tipping in the States. We generally don't tip here in Australia, occasionally if it is an exceptionally great meal but thats about all. The other thing is the 'horsey' one has decided she needs? an IPOD and we have heard they are a lot cheaper in the US. Any suggestions about where to look for one? She also needs swimming bathers, are there still plenty around in the stores??? So many questions...................................
There will actually be a crafty post in the next day or two - stay tuned!

Where are you headed in the states??? Tipping at a restaurant can be anywhere between 10% and 20% depending on the service you get. At least that is the rule we follow. Finding an iPOD? Try Walmart..... they have everything LOL.

have fun!!

Kristine got her Ipod at Target, but I am sure you'll find one just about anywhere :-) They are a lot cheaper in the US than in Norway, so she saved quite a bit...
I hope you have a wonderful time, I see you already got a tipping advice :-)

IPods are pretty much everywhere...Target...Walmart...Best Buy. Bathing suits are going out of stock really soon. Can you order one??
You guys are going to have a ball!!! Bring an empty suitcase or two...do you have some that nestle into a bigger sized one? That way you can carry home all of your goodies. :)
hugs!!

Make sure you have some small notes with you to give a dollar or 2 to door people and taxi drivers. It is a difficult thing for us aussies but expected there. How very exciting for you. You will have a great time.

You are going to have a great time. I think the others have covered the tipping thing :) Tipping was a huge thing for us to get used to when we moved to South Africa, but it does get easier :)

Ipods cost nearly the same everywhere, although they can be a tad cheaper at Wal-mart.

Tipping - 15% is generally my minimum...

(P.S. Your package should be in the mail today.)

How exciting for you all!
Where are you going and for how long? We've bought iPods in Apple stores, and at Virgins. I think the prices are pretty much the same.
Enjoy your stay! I'm going to the US myself in a few weeks!
