Dancing Queen.....

Last Friday I had a very early start to the day heading off to Melbourne to meet one of my oldest and dearest friends to visit ABBAWORLD at Federation Square. Karen and I went to kindergarten together at the age of 4 and have been friends ever since. As 10 year olds we lived and breathed ABBA. We sang to them and danced to them and even recorded ourselves on a 'cassette' , what we would give to have them now!!! Karen was lucky enough to go to the ABBA concert when they came to Australia and her parents even got a ticket for me but my parents wouldn't let me go. I guess back then Melbourne was a long long way away. I still haven't let Mum forget it though. The ticket Karen's brother used instead of me is still one of my treasured possessions. We had ABBA socks, pillows, books, posters and of course their albums!!
We spent 3 hours at ABBAWORLD and had so much fun. It brought back so many memories. There were a lot of interactive things that you could do and download afterwards such as us singing and dancing, these have been saved and kept to be brought out one day in our nursing home....."remember when....".

Hi Lise,

How nice that you got to go to ABBAWORLD with your best friend. My son took me last Mother's Day to see Mama Mia which is full of their music. Looking forward to see what quilts you come up with after your retreat.

Remember when Fernando was on the top ten for weeks and weeks ? Ah! memories are made of this. I wouldn't let my girls go to Melbourne to see Bay City Rollers either . Mums think alike.

I remember having an ABBA cassette too - I could do a pretty good rendition of Dancing Queen back in the day! I had the ABBA socks and ABBA card collection.
