I have an addiction and need help....

We are on a budget at the moment, quite a strict one, but I have a problem....I keep buying magazines which not only cost the earth but clutter my house (and trust me I do not need any more clutter!!!). This afternoon I realised I bought not 1 but 3 magazines today, Masterchef - because I had to , the Country Threads - because Jenny from Elefantz has a little quilt on the cover she showed on her blog and I thought I might like to make it, and the Womens Weekly because (this is the saddest excuse) it came with a free umbrella - although in my defence I will say that my current one is very sad and can probably go in the bin!!! I know I don't need them and know I could read most of them at the library and I promise I will try really really hard to cut back... I love Homespun and Super Food Ideas so can't go without them but I probably don't need any more. Am I the only one with this vice??? Please don't say I am!
(and yes that is chocolate at the back of the photo, I get nervous if there is none in the house!)

Can't help with you addiction, other than to say in another ten years or so you will overcome it. Mum's work is simply stunning and changing horsepower of four legs to engine power lets you know that the years are rolling on Cheers.

I have too many and buy too many - and no where for them to go... I have a big stack that I want to get rid of, but don't want to leave them at the charity - I want someone to pay me a pittance for them so I can give the money to an orphanage - but everyone I know is a quilter and already has way too many magazines and ebay just doesn't have a flicker of interest... so no more magazines!!!

I LOVE chocolate

I'm with on the chocolate.

Have managed to curb the magazine and pattern addiction this year - mostly because of the cost and lack of use. I have to say that going through all the old magazines has certainly reminded me of all the projects I'd really like to make!

Enjoy your reading matter.

I have become much tougher as so many mags don't have much in them- I hate when they plastic wrap them & I can't look before I buy! I now but most Homespuns & Quilters Companion, Downunder Quilts. Once you pass one edition by it gets easier! Good luck...any seasalt choc???? I used to donate the old ones to school fetes, now I give them to Mum's craft group or new stitchers.

I try to steer clear of them...and not EVEN look at the covers. But when I'm on vacation? All bets are off...watch out! You are NOT alone!

I only get Homespun! (and the occasional trashy magazine) I have a subscription that my parents buy for my birthday each year. It's too hard... to pick and choose...so I don't look anymore!

A great post - one we can all relate too! I love the buy the occasional Donna Hay magazine, and subscribe to Marie Claire Idees. The rest I get out from the library to flick through. When I am too tired to create - looking at magazines can be the next best thing.

hi there, thanks for popping by my blog and your lovely message! I must say, you buy mags for the same reasons I buy them, especially in the summer when they come with a high level of free 'tat' attached to the front! Keep the tat, and the mag which means expanding walls are needed for my house!
Fab blog btw!

You are not the only one. I subscribe to Super Foods. I get every BHG. I'm now onto Masterchef. And recently have taken a liking to Donna Hay. There's only so many recipes I can make! Yikes.
