SH arrived home from his weekend trip to Sydney for the football late last night and brought me a gift, the Lindt cafe was next to their hotel and knowing my obsession with Lindt chocolate and macaroons (determined to conquer them this year!) I received a box of 6 Lindt macaroons. He was disappointed that they are a little crumbly after the trip but I have assured him that the taste and enjoyment will not be affected!

Gorgeous Jimmy!
Thought it was time for a Jimmy update! As you can see he loves comfort! curling up on a knee for a cuddle whenever possible. He got a lovely new coat for winter which is keeping him warm during the day when we are at work and school, only once has he chewed it but luckily it was mendable. Has he been into mischief? oh yes, in the last month he has eaten a pin cushion and a hockey sock!!! He was very lucky they did not cause a trip to the vet. He still doesn't sleep at night, never before have I known a dog with insomnia but we are working through it. He certainly has got under our skin (even mine!) and become a much loved member of the family. We are still looking for a friend for him but waiting until the perfect companion comes along.

Happy Birthday Henry!
Today, August 1st, is all horses Birthday so it was fairly apt that we had our Pony Club rally for the month today and was able to spend the day with our special friends on their special day! Not so good was the weather, it rained and was cold and miserable all morning. We finished early so we could all rush home for an inside afternoon but before we left it was cake time!!! The top one was one especially for the horses, made from oats, bran, golden syrup, carrots and apples!! and the next one was the one the 'horsey' one made for the kids to eat. I purchased a horse shaped tin from Ikea earlier in the year and it is amazing how often it is used! Chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and mini m & m's made for a 'fat' pony but a delicious treat!! None of it made it home with us!! Look how much Henry enjoyed his horsey cake, he would of eaten the lot if he'd been given half a chance!!

A touch of color...
This morning greeted me with some beautiful sunshine ,so good for the soul! Looking out my kitchen and bathroom windows I was greeted with these beautiful camelias. Both bushes are just laden with them. The day disintegrated into a cold, very wet, grey day!! The 'horsey' one has just played hockey in the rain, lucky her team had a win! I was a good mother and watched from the sidelines in the rain under my new umbrella - maybe it was a good thing I bought that magazine yesterday!!!! SH is in Sydney for a long weekend to watch his beloved Cats play an interstate football game so it is a quiet household. Pony Club tomorrow so a full day out and about!

I have an addiction and need help....
We are on a budget at the moment, quite a strict one, but I have a problem....I keep buying magazines which not only cost the earth but clutter my house (and trust me I do not need any more clutter!!!). This afternoon I realised I bought not 1 but 3 magazines today, Masterchef - because I had to , the Country Threads - because Jenny from Elefantz has a little quilt on the cover she showed on her blog and I thought I might like to make it, and the Womens Weekly because (this is the saddest excuse) it came with a free umbrella - although in my defence I will say that my current one is very sad and can probably go in the bin!!! I know I don't need them and know I could read most of them at the library and I promise I will try really really hard to cut back... I love Homespun and Super Food Ideas so can't go without them but I probably don't need any more. Am I the only one with this vice??? Please don't say I am!
(and yes that is chocolate at the back of the photo, I get nervous if there is none in the house!)

Felting Frenzy!
Mum has been in a bit of a 'felting frenzy' lately! Every time I see her she has a new creation! She will use some of these as Christmas gifts, what a lovely present it would be to receive.
These first two are purses. The second one is shown opened inside and then the outside. It is embellished with beading and embroidery.

This is a 'pen' holder!! Imagine if ink leaked onto it, I think it is too nice to actually use!!!It is also made from recycled paper.

This is a lovely scarf which I tried to get artistic photographing!!! A beautiful purple.

And this is a lovely bag. I really like the colors and pattern in this one, wonder if I get lucky at Christmas????
