Finally a finish......

Well yesterday (at work!!!) I finished my Sashimo embroidery. It is certainly not perfect but I loved doing it. I bought another panel at the same time - this time navy thread on white, and just can't wait to get started on it. Now I am not sure what to do with it, all suggestions welcome! It is about 30cm square. I have thought of framing it, making a table runner or a cushion. I am actually thinking I would love to do a quilt of Japanese fabrics with some of these embroidery's set into it.

What neat circles. I have had a little go at this embroidery but never actually made anything. This is lovely, alot of time went into this. What about a wall-hanging?

Thaqt is lovely. I would do the quilt. So how do you do it to get it so perfect (yes it looks perfect). Each "circle" is exactly the same width and each stitch the same length. I would love to see the instructions.

Beautiful quilt. I would hang it on my wall or maybe use it in the center of a larger quilt and use blocks of some kind to make it larger.

Your sashiko is lovely! I have done some simple patterns too but I find it more difficult than quilting. Maybe because of the heavy thread. Sashiko was originally used for sewing cloth together to make rags and many Japanese ladies will use them as table wipes... Sashiko sometimes decorates clothing nowadays too and I've seen that size made into cushions. Hope you find a good place to display your lovely work!

Your stitching is splendid ! I would definitely make 11 other 30cm square panels (YESS eleven : I'm always seeing quilts everywhere, HeeHee), with different stitching patterns - maybe half of them blue on white and the other blocks white on blue, then assemble them on a 3 by 4 setting.... and make a GORGEOUS heirloom quilt ! Quite a job, but absolutely worth the making ! You don't need stitching all of them one after another, just one from time to time, and then treasure your blocks until you're done. All you need is the love of making them, one stitch at a time ;>)

THANKS a lot for your visit on my blog ! I didn't know yours... but now you're on my list and I'll come back often.
